Description

Fourth of July Events! If it’s the Fourth of July, then it must be the Turner Public Library’s Fourth of July Festival on the Green, Book Sale, and Strawberry Shortcake!

ο‚· A wonderful and fun community parade starts at 10 a.m. on CobbRoad and proceeds down Main Street (Route 117) to Leavitt Area HS. There will be kids, bi-and tri-cycles, animals of all sorts, music, horses and carriages, balloons, veterans, fire and police vehicles, farm equipment – hey, it’s our community!

ο‚· Immediately after the parade, The World’s Best Strawberry Shortcake will be served on the Green by Turner Public Library volunteers.

ο‚· From 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the Library’s annual Book Sale will be held in the Leavitt Institute Building. It is a BIG event where you can probably find that book you’ve always wanted to read

ο‚· Throughout the day, games prepared and manned by the LAHS Junior Class will be available in the area for children of all ages; a Bounce House will be available; the Turner History Museum and Historical Association will have an open house, and local nonprofit organizations will offer food and drink.

ο‚· Hey, kids! Looking for 4th of July candy? Smack a piñata! That will happen about 11:00 on the Green, so come give it a whack. Marty Lang will perform a mix of swing, jazz and rock music in the Gazebo starting around 11:00.

MSAD 52 allows the use of school property for the Festival on the Green. To comply with their policies, PLEASE leave your dogs at home on July 4th.
