Ready, Set, Kindergarten! Your little girl is about to take a BIG step

Sponsored by Girl Scouts of Maine

August 10, 2020

Naturally, you want to do everything you can to prepare her to start kindergarten with confidence. That’s where Girl Scouts comes in with a new kindergarten readiness course that is FREE and open to all girls.

Starting kindergarten is a rite of passage for children and their families, but many of the usual ways caregivers prepare their kids have been canceled due to the pandemic, leaving families worried their kids might not be ready to successfully adapt to and thrive in the classroom. That’s why Girl Scouts of Maine is offering a FREE “Make New Friends” virtual series for girls entering Kindergarten to help them prepare to start kindergarten with confidence.

Knowing social and emotional learning and development are some of the strongest predictors of academic success and healthy relationships, Girl Scouts has designed fun activities to fill this critical need. In this four-part series, girls will practice interacting with other girls, explore emotions and persistence, practice reasoning and problem-solving skills, and more.

One mom had this to say about it, "Girl Scouts are more than just tasty cookies, they're pioneers, navigating through a pandemic with families in mind. Their "Make New Friends" series for my soon to be kindergartener, was one of the best resources for social engagement during quarantine. It was fun, educational, and it also gave a busy mom a moment to do the dishes!" - Kelcie M.

A virtual series that boosts your girl’s social skills and self-confidence is just a click away, the next series begins August 17th!

Looking for something for older girls, or a different experience? Girl Scouts invites you to more FREE virtual events. Girls can get CREATIVE with Girl Scout Explorers, WILD on the dance floor at an Animal Dance Party, or build a ROBOT at a Build a Robot Party!
