A Note from the Publisher

By Kayt Myers March 12, 2020

We find ourselves in unprecedented times--many of us are working remotely, most of our children are learning from home or have school cancelled outright, restaurants are closed, and grocery shelves are barren.

For ten years, Macaroni Kid Androscoggin has prided ourselves on our robust, family-centered events calendar. Now, we find that nearly all local events--rightfully so--have been canceled to encourage social distancing. Macaroni Kid publishers across the U.S., are all grappling with the best ways to stay true to our mission of helping families find their fun. 3 million families in 5,000 communities rely on us for our family event calendars. So what happens when almost every community shuts down events?

Our hard-working, community-minded publishers step up to find resources for parents and caregivers as they battle boredom, isolation, and even fear. Today, and in the coming weeks, you can expect to see a nearly non-existent events calendar. You will, however, see many resources for families as they work and learn from home. We hope our articles provide some comfort, ideas, and connectedness.

We will be loading some local events that are online-based so stay tuned for those. If you don't yet follow us on Facebook, do so now so you see our posts on more resources and online events. And, if your organization is hosting a virtual event for kids and families, please submit it to us HERE.

Take care of one another.

Warmly,
Kayt
