Did you know that Community Clinical Services, the Federally Qualified Health Center affiliated with St Mary’s Health System, has school based health centers in Lewiston and Auburn?
With a health center placed directly in schools, each staffed by a nurse practitioner; a behavioral health counselor; and an administrative clinical assistant (ACA), it is easy for students to get care. With so many parents unable to get a student to and from school during the day to go to the doctor, the school based health center solves this problem!
Through the school-based health center, a student has access to the following services:
- Vaccines
- First aid for minor accidents and injuries
- Diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, ie. strep throat, ear infections
- Prescription medication when needed
- Education on wellness, nutrition, and smoking cessation
- Evaluation of recurring symptoms, ie. stomach pain or headaches
- Sports screenings/physicals
- Reproductive Health
- Behavioral Health:
- Individual Counseling
- Group Therapy
- Family Counseling
If you know a student in any of the following schools, encourage their parent to complete an enrollment form for the 2016-2017 school year.
- Auburn Middle School
- Edward Little High School
- Lewiston Middle School
- Lewiston High School
- Lewiston Regional Technical Center
CCS School-Based Health Centers do not serve as a primary care provider, but do supplement an existing primary care relationship. Self referrals are always accepted. An FQHC does not require co-pays.
Have a thoughtful and healthy school year!
CCS is committed to improving the health and well-being of all patients regardless of their ability to pay by providing the highest quality, most respectful, and most compassionate care.
