Ossipee Valley Fair

July 10 - July 13: Schedule

Highlights include the popular pig scramble and thrilling Axe Women Logger demonstrations. Bonus: Visit Maine’s historic Porter‑Parsonsfield Covered Bridge nearby!


Houlton Fair

July 11 - July 13: Schedule

Near the New Brunswick border, this fair brings a lively mix of a farm‑to‑pizza cooking challenge, giant midway rides, a hula‑hoop contest, rubber‑duck races, and a footprint pie‑eating showdown.


Waterford World's Fair

July 18 - July 20: Schedule

Held in North Waterford, a fair with one of the most unique names in the state! Views of lakes and the quirky “foreign‑town” signpost are a plus. Don’t miss the pig scramble, logging demos, and interactive animal sessions for kids.


Bangor State Fair

July 24 - August 2: Schedule

This midsummer highlight runs is among Maine’s larger agricultural fairs. Look for lumberjack shows, a demolition derby, and stop at the iconic 31-foot‑tall Paul Bunyan statue in downtown Bangor.


Northern Maine Fair

July 26 - August 3: Schedule

Held in Presque Isle (aka Maine’s potato capital!), you'll find beef auctions, truck and tractor pulls, demolition derby, car show—and kids can try miniature log‑loader machines in the “Lil’ Lumberjacks” zone.


Union Fair (Maine's Wild Blueberry Festival)

July 30 - August 3: Schedule

This quaint fair doubles as Maine’s Wild Blueberry Festival. Indulge in blueberry‑themed contests and treats, and enjoy a reading of Blueberries for Sal by the author’s daughter.


Topsham Fair

August 3 - August 9: Schedule

This fair blends over 170 years of tradition with modern thrills—featuring harness racing, demolition derbies, livestock shows, and fun for all ages. From pig scrambles and truck pulls to magic shows and local baking contests, it's a true celebration of Maine agriculture and small-town spirit.


Skowhegan State Fair

August 7 - August 16: Schedule

Over 10 days, it offers a classic fair experience—think demolition derbies, truck and tractor pulls, seven harness racing events, livestock exhibitions, artisan crafts, midway rides, and live music—all set in a scenic fairground that opens at 7 AM daily.


Acton Fair

August 21 - August 24: Schedule

Highlights include unique contests like a men’s keg toss, women’s skillet throw, the Cruise’n Car Show, and a dairy goat competition—plus classic attractions such as baking contests, a horse show, 4-H livestock exhibitions, and live music.


Piscataquis Valley Fair

August 21 - August 24: Schedule

A classic "down‑home country fair" featuring everything from livestock exhibitions and antique tractor pulls to demolition derbies and magic shows—plus a unique milking parlor where you can watch demonstrations and enjoy homemade ice cream.


Windsor Fair

August 23 - Sept. 1: Schedule

This is Maine’s second-largest agricultural fair, spanning over 50 acres with vibrant attractions ranging from harness racing, Woodsman’s Day logging competitions, demolition derbies, and truck & tractor pulls to the annual Giant Pumpkin Contest and Baby Beef, Lamb & Hog Sale. It's lively grandstand entertainment features the Black Cat Hell Driver’s Stunt Auto Thrill Show, a Tom Petty tribute, and more, all alongside extensive livestock exhibits, crafts, and family fun!


Washington County Fair

August 23  - August 24: Schedule

The only fair in Washington County and a cornerstone of the community. Expect a warm, family-friendly atmosphere: 4‑H livestock shows and "Sow Your Sparks" youth exhibits, harness racing, tractor pulls, a karaoke contest, train rides, face painting, bounce houses, vendor booths, and classic contests like watermelon‑eating. Educational and agricultural displays from local farms round out the experience.


Blue Hill Fair

August 28  - Sept. 1: Schedule

A quintessential “down-to-earth” country fair nestled in coastal Blue Hill, Maine. Dating back to 1891, it boasts sheepdog trials, antique tractor pulls, livestock exhibitions, a lively carnival midway, and live entertainment—all drawing locals and visitors to celebrate harvest time in a warm, community-focused atmosphere.


Harmony Free Fair

August 29  - Sept. 1: Schedule

You’ll find lively attractions like demo derbies, animal and mechanical pulls, antique engines and tractors, a horse show, plus family-focused games (horseshoes, frog-jumping, talent shows), and an exhibition hall showcasing local crafts and farm demos.


Clinton Lions Agricultural Fair

Sept. 4 - Sept. 7: Schedule

Also known as "The Biggest Little Fair in the state" — offers a cozy, family-friendly experience packed with rides, food, livestock exhibits, and plenty of stage entertainment, all held each year Thursday to Sunday after Labor Day. Highlights include thrilling animal and mechanical pulls, a bustling midway, demolition derbies, and lively children's events that make it a standout local tradition.


Litchfield Fair

Sept. 5 - Sept. 7: Schedule

It features standout attractions like pig scrambles, steer- and ox-pulling competitions (including powder-puff and redneck truck pulls), mutton-busting, antique car parades, and interactive kid events such as pedal tractor contests and baby shows. Its highly acclaimed Exhibition Halls—especially the popular “Wheeler’s Wee Farmers” interactive agricultural display—showcase arts, crafts, livestock, and homemade goods, embodying its motto: “What a Fair Should Be.”


Oxford County Fair

Sept. 10 - Sept. 13: Schedule

This fair celebrates its agricultural heritage with a fresh midway by Cushing Amusements, farm-themed contests like Mom’s Apple Pie and a new youth pumpkin-growing challenge, plus a bustling demo derby, Woodsmen’s Day competitions, and a 4-H livestock showcase. With affordable daily admission (just $3–$15) and a vibrant mix of educational exhibits, music performances, and family-friendly fun, it’s a spirited four-day celebration in the heart of Oxford County.


New Portland Lion's Fair

Sept. 12 - Sept. 14: Schedule

This 93rd annual fair features thrilling truck and ATV pulls, a muddy “mud run,” and a roaring Sunday demolition derby—plus animal and mechanical pulling contests, a bustling midway, crafts, and an exhibit hall showcasing local agriculture and woodsy traditions.


Farmington Fair

Sept. 14 - Sept. 20: Schedule

This fair, also known as “Maine’s Harvest Fair,” celebrates its 184th year in the scenic Western Mountains. It delivers a quintessential agricultural experience with daily harness racing, demolition derbies, a midway by Cushing Amusements, extensive livestock exhibits, a bustling exhibition hall, and family-friendly events like goat and poultry shows—warm, welcoming, and full of seasonal charm.


Common Ground Country Fair

Sept. 19 - Sept. 21: Schedule

Maine’s flagship celebration of organic living—hosted by MOFGA on its 300-acre education farm. Over three days, expect 1,000+ exhibitors, two fully organic farmers’ markets, hands-on demonstrations (like the daily Children’s Garden Parade), keynote talks, craft workshops, fiber arts, a draft-horse show, and an incredible array of Maine-sourced, organic foods.


Cumberland Fair

Sept. 21 - Sept. 27: Schedule

Celebrating its 153rd edition, this beloved county fair blends classic agricultural traditions with lively attractions: think giant pumpkin & squash weigh-offs, harness racing, demolition derbies, pig races, and a bustling midway by Gillette Amusements. With free parking and complimentary admission for kids 12 & under, it's an affordable, multi-generational fall celebration that kicks off the season in style.


Fryeburg Fair

Sept. 28 - Oct. 5: Schedule

The Fryeburg Fair is Maine’s largest and most iconic agricultural fair, often called the “Blue Ribbon Classic.” Over its nine-day run, it features more than 3,000 animals—from draft horses to poultry—alongside powerhouse events like Woodsmen’s Field Day (North America’s largest woods skills competition), harness racing, horse-and-ox pulling, tractor and big-rig pulls, and nightly live entertainment under the grandstand.
