My kids all started school this week. Of course, we are only days into the new school year so the reality of it hasn't totally hit. (I love that homework seems to be nonexistant for the first few days.) As a work-at-home mom, I am enjoying the extra quiet time to actually get things done but must admit, I miss the lazy mornings in our pajamas and the improptu beach days. And, boy, our afterschool schedules are crazy! Between soccer, field hockey, karate, Scouts, volunteer activities and homework, it is going to be a struggle to find the time to sit down as a family each day. Yesterday, we squeezed in some family time over a quick dinner and then around the field at my daughter's field hockey practice. We brought books and some soccer balls with us so we could get some reading time in together and play pass. I hope all of you with school-aged children are transitioning well into the new year and finding the time for family togetherness as well.
