My kids head back to school next week. It is bittersweet. I am not ready to say goodbye to summer. I'm not looking forward to the hectic schedules with school and sports and - ugh - homework. I'm not ready to feel the cool air or see colored leaves or even to taste pumpkin-flavored anything. Fall can hold off a bit longer as far as I am concerned. With the kids back in school, it will be much easier for me to work and the routine is usually good for all of us. I'm hoping the transition is an easy one.
A few things to help you as you prepare for back-to-school and - gulp - fall:
- Squeeze out the last bits of summer fun. Check our calendar of events for lots of ideas. Know about an event not listed? Submit an event here.
- Enter our Back-to-School Gveaway! Nothing beats back-to-school blahs than some free swag!
- Have the kids test out the new American Greetings Creatacard app by making a card for Grandparents' Day on September 7.
- Check out other apps that will make the school year easier. (I love VolunteerSpot!)
- Have the kiddos craft a fun vase for teacher!
- Check out Macaroni Menus for a fun twist on ice cream sandwiches. They make a great afterschool snack!
Enjoy the week!
