Think Fun Fillers for Easter

By Kayt DeMerchant, Publisher April 10, 2014

It would be easy to stuff Easter baskets full of dollar store toys but I prefer to purchase a few high quality, usable items that won’t end up in the Goodwill box in a few months. I try to think of items I will end up needing to purchase anyway and fill up baskets with those. Think toothbrushes and toothpaste, bubble bath, a new hairbrush, a bathing suit or a sun hat. Here are some fun and functional items we just can’t resisit.

Oola Original Decals

Looking for a cool way to inspire your children? Check out Oola Original Decals.  The reusable decals feature “messages of positivity” and can be placed on lockers, walls, bathroom mirrors or notebooks.  The decals are sure to put a smile on your child’s face and start their day off right. We love that they’re made in the U.S.A.!

The My Spy Birdhouse

For the nature-loving kid, some great gardening supplies like a watering can, plant seeds and gardening tools make fun basket stuffers. We also love the MySpy Birdhouse which suction cups to a window. Kids can see out but birds cannot see in. It is a great way for kids to see nature in action right from their window. Your kids will be delighted to see a mama bird sitting on her eggs and then later caring for her new arrivals.

Cuddly Bandages

We adore these sweet and comforting Cuddly Bandages. Spring brings with it bike riding, tree climbing, hopscotch and more. With those activities, small scrapes and cuts are sure to follow. Cuddly Bandages go above and beyond regular bandages by offering a bit of comfort to your child and their boo-boo. Make the day easier with one of these comfy, colorful friends!

Doodle by Emi-Jay
Hair Accessories

Your daughter will love the super cute Doodle line of hair accessories from Emi-Jay. She probably won’t care that many celebrities have been spotted donning Emi-Jay accessories but she will care that they come in great, colorful prints and are extremely gentle on hair. Some designs are even reversible. With 20% of profits going to charity, you will feel good about giving these accessories to your budding fashionista.

Adelaide NYC

If you are looking for exceptionally unique and fun accessories, look no further than Adelaide NYC. I particularly love their charm bracelets and ponytail holders but, honestly, there isn’t an item in their line that I didn’t fall in love with. (A few of their products are on my Mother’s day wish list!) Adelaide offers great design and high quality. An item from Adelaide will simply delight your child!

For the kid that loves music, consider a new pair of earbuds, headphones or perhaps even a bluetooth, waterproof shower speaker like this one from AquaAudio (on sale at Amazon.com). Just don't say we didn't warn you...expect a lot of loud singing in the shower.
